Daniele Lunghini

Daniele Lunghini is a multimedia artist. Born in Rome in 1967. Illustrator, video director, installation artist.

Le foto dello scandalo

In 2001 Lunghini directed "Le foto dello scandalo", (35 mm) realized in computer graphic 3D. The short is a sing long shot black and white with gangsters movies mood ’40 style. It’s an hommage to Weegee photos atmosfere noir and to film of 40’s gangster.

This short won in 2001 the Grand Prize of World Animation Celebration 1 (Los Angeles) and the Imagina 2 as Best European Production, Doga Film Festival(Japan) and 2° Kirin Awards(Japan). He’s one of the 5 nomated as best animated work at Cartoon d’Or 3 in 2002. Moreover, it’s selected in more than 30 international festivals. In Italy won at Castelli animati 4 and Arcipelago 5 and received the “Golden Globe of Foreign Press” (Rome 2001). It’s been selected by Cal Art University 6 for an international selection of best animated short of the world. Thanks to Show for Shows of Acmefilmworks 7 (Los Angeles), the short is screened in the most important American Studios.

Little Numba

In 2002, Warp Records, after an international selection, assign to Daniele Lunghini and Diego Zuelli the work to direct the Mira Calix, Little Numba. The video is based on Lunghini leonardesque illustrations. Diego Zuelli worked as co-director, visual effects and editor. The video, written by Lunghini, is a synthesis from birth and development to the collapse of a civilization somewhere in the Universe. The video won at Doga Team Festival(Japan) and selected in almost 15 internationals festivals. Chosen by Creative Review 8 in a selection of short movies DVD.

Anti-V

In 2003 Lunghini realized Anti-V. The project is part of FuturNET, an interactive exposition which, starting from the worth of Futurism, they have intended to connect the ideas of Futuristic Movement with art of today using advanced technology. The video (screenplay by Joe Vignola) is an hommage to the film director Leni Riefenstahl and Russian experimental cinema.
