Cupcake (book)
Cupcake (2007) is the third book in a teen novel/series written by Rachel Cohn. The book is AbOUT "Cyd Charisse", a girl who lives in San Francisco with her parents Nancy and Sid, and siblings Ashley and Josh. As Cupcake starts, the main character, CC, surprises everyone, including herself, when she turns down a proposal from the perfect boyfriend, Shrimp, to encourage him to follow his dreams to New Zealand. She, in turn, goes to New York City to search for herself and her own way. The other books in the series are Gingerbread (2003) and Shrimp (2005).
Plot
When she graduates from high school in San Francisco, CC heads to New York where she is planning to live with her half-brother, Danny. She loves New York at first, but problems arise soon. Autumn returns to San Francisco and CC's newest friend, Chuckie, doesn't like her wealth. Danny gets fed up with her as well. Next, Shrimp shows up on her doorstep, and it's time for the confused CC to make some tough decisions.
