Club Social Deportivo San Lorenzo de Almagro
San Lorenzo de Almagro is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Chiclayo, Lambayeque, Peru.
History
The Club Social Deportivo San Lorenzo de Almagro was founded March 28, 1928 by a group of youths of Chiclayo, who they desired to have a sports institution that represented them, the name chosen for the club was that of Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro in honor of the team of soccer of the Primera Division Argentina, that by those years very was known in Peru. Their first president was Roberto Osores Peralta who had the arduous work to group in the team to the better players of those years, the same that quickly in base to their good soccer were won the affection of the town being done known as the "Santos del Cercado".
In 1942 San Lorenzo of Almagro faced Universitario de Deportes, being the first provincial team in conquering it for 2 goals to 1, being done present in the scoreboard Valderrama and Cuenca for the "azulgrana" team and Teodoro Fernández for the creams. In the year 1969 under the presidency of the Dr. Carlos Quiñones Gil the club participate in the final phase of the Peru Cup 1969 occupying the third place under the Carlos A. Mannucci and of FBC Melgar.
At present participates in the league of Chiclayo seeking its ascent to First Division.
