C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons

C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons is a 140 year old legendary jewelry company in India, founded by Cotha Krishniah Chetty in 1869. In 1880, he built a bigger place to craft his fine jewelry works. His intoxicating jewelry designs found patronage in the Royal families of Mysore, Sandur and Travancore, who became a part of his discerning clientele. His work was also highly talked AbOUT in the British community, who were then the colonizers of India.

The company designed the official seal of Mysore State (now Karnataka). It was the first company in Karnataka to be awarded hallmark certification for gold.

Milestones at C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons

• 1869: The Legend Cotha Krishniah Chetty establishes C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons

• 1890: Mr.C.K. Audinarayana Chetty joins the jewellery business.

• 1924: The company exhibits at the British Empire Exhibition.

• 1925: The third generation entry to the C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons business with Mr.C.Venkatachalapathy Chetty joining the business

• 1956: The fourth generation entry into the C. Krishniah Chetty business with Mr.C.V.Hayagriv and Mr.C.V. Narayan joining the business.

• 1969: C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons complete a century into the jewellery business.

• 1981: Mr.C.Vinod Hayagriv joins C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons.

• 1985: C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons was chosen to make the entire jewellery collection for an Indian ace industrialist.

• 1987: C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons installs a new ERP system, to achieve the highest possible perfection in jewellery making.

• 1989-90: C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons renovates its showroom in Commercial Street, Bangalore.

• 1998: The fifth generation entry into C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons with C.Ganesh Narayan joining the business.

• 1998-99: C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons introduced the” Ultimate Certification” for diamonds.

• 2004: C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons receive the Rotary Centennial Legend Award.

• 2006: Introduced natural Diamonds to the diamond collection at C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons.

• 2007: C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons launches The Flagship Diamond Jewellery Specialist Store.

• 2008: C.Krishniah Chetty bags the “Best Retail Showroom 2008” award.

• 2009: C. Krishniah Chetty & Sons is awarded “The Best Retail Employer 2009” award.

Diamonds

All diamonds at C. Krishniah Chety & Sons are natural diamonds. Diamonds are available in various shapes and sizes. Diamonds are popularly crafted into nine divine forms including the Round Brilliant cut, the Marquise cut, the Princess cut, the radiant cut, the Emerald cut, the Pear cut, the Asscher cut, the Oval cut and the Heart cut, all of which are available at C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons. Colored diamonds come in myriad hues including blue, pink, red, green, orange, purple, violet, yellow, olive, and brown. Every diamond at C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons is tested and graded on the basis the 4C’s- Color, Cut, Clarity and Carat.

The Diamond Certificate

C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons is the only place in India where one can obtain a certificate for diamonds of over 0.23 carat weight, ensuring superior quality, price and brilliance of the diamonds purchased. The diamond certificate records all the relevant information pertaining to the diamond including carat weight, color grade, measurements and physical properties as well as plotting diagrams.

Diamonds from the “Ultimate Collection” at CKC Sons are certified according to the standards set by the Gemological Institute of America, a certification for unparalleled quality and price.

The Flagship Store

The 14,000 sq.ft Flagship store of C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons is located on the Main Guard Cross in Bangalore. It is a one-of-its–kind jewellery store, dedicated entirely to Diamonds and other precious stones.

The Tolkowsky Collection

Tolkowsky is a 200 year old European Diamond house that has cut the world’s largest diamonds.

Tolkowsky has entered the Indian Market for the first time with its exclusive partnership with C.Krishniah Chetty & Sons.

All Tolkowsky diamonds display 8 hearts and 8 arrows, associated with the Ideal Cut. The signature Collection is where the Tolkowsky becomes most apparent. T Settings are combined with Ideal Cut diamonds.
