Chu Ing Ghum

Chu Ing Ghum (Hangul: 추잉검, better known by his birth name Alvin Pasuquin (), is a Korean-American-Filipino singer and is currently an active soloist and a very popular Drama actor in South Korea. He's one of the English-speaking Korean actors in Korean Entertainment along with other idols.

Alvin was born in Seoul, South Korea and was raised in Danville, California, United States, where he lived with his parents and older sister. He attended at Monte Vista High School and was in the school choir. At the age of 17, Alvin moved to the Philippines with his mother, where he starred in many cat walk events in the country as a Bench and Adidas endorser. At age 22, Alvin moved to South Korea where he became known as Chu Ing Ghum, the prince of Korean Drama, as he was given recognition through the Drama, "Winter is Coming".

2012 : Debut as a Singer

Alvin debuted in the four-member group FIRE, alongside Ming Ru, Yumi Shin and Cheon Lee. The group name is an acronym for Fierce Intense Real Enigma . FIRE's first single 'In Your Feet' was released on January 4, 2012. Their popularity quickly rose. FIRE made it onto the list of the Top 5 Most Anticipated Artists in 2012.

2013 : Leaving FIRE

In early 2013, Alvin signed a resignation contract from FIRE, and entered a new contract under the label XXYV Company as a soloist. on August 2013 Chu Ing Ghum release his first solo single My Girl, the title song falls into the genre of pop.

Acting career

Upon his venture into the KPOP world with the immense popularity of FIRE, Chu Ing Ghum was immediately discovered to be a talented actor through a sit-com event that he attended which show cased his talent in acting. He was then offered an acting career by Boss Entertainment while under FIRE's contract. On March 2012, Alvin Pasuquin starred in the drama "Winter is Coming", where he played a half man, half wolf alongside the popular Korean TV persona Shim Jhun Lee and Min Tae Whan. On the April of that same year, the drama became a blast and was aired in 12 Asian Countries, and by July 2013, the drama "Winter is Coming" hits on the annual Korean Movie Awards as the 2013 Best Screen Play award, 2013 Best Rookie Actor award and 2013 Best Drama award.

On a MYX Magazine interview 2012, Alvin G. Pasuquin revealed to the public, the secret behind his stage name Chu King Ghum. The actor-singer-model shared that he got the idea of this name while attending a press-conference as one of the usherettes from an institution (identity withheld) ask if he was "chewing gum" then and there Alvin was enlightened to use Chu Ing Ghum as a stage name.
