Christopher DeRubeis
Christopher DeRubeis (born 1978) is an American artist and painter from Santa Clarita, California. His trademarked style is Abstract Sensualism. He is best known for creating holographic-like paintings on sheet metal.
Background
DeRubeis attended the Pasadena Art Center and the Associates in Art College in Sherman Oaks, California. During his mid-20s he developed his methods and style of using airbrushes and power tools on an aluminum canvas by painting motorcycles. His art, previously unconventional, has been displayed at trade shows and exhibits internationally.
In 2005, DeRubeis’ work was submitted and honored with two nominations by the First Annual Fine Art Awards, televised live from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. Nominated in the “Mixed Media” and “New Movement” categories, he earned the “MUSE” Award in “New Movement,” and is now known as “The Father of the Conceptual Movement.” His artwork has appeared on the DIY and HGTV networks.
In 2009, DeRubeis was signed by British art publisher David Smith. DeRubeis opened his own signature galleries in Key West, Florida in March 2010, and in Las Vegas in 2017.
