Chitral Model College

Chitral Model College is a private graduate college in Chitral. The college is ranked as one of the top colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Admissions to the college begin every July. The number of students enrolled has increased every year since the College's establishment in 2001. The College upgraded to degree level in 2005 and relocated to a new building in 2008.

Dr. Inayatullah Faizi is the current Principal of Chitral Model College.

Selection/admission policy

The standard of the test paper will be of matriculation level for intermediate classes and inter level for degree classes.

Interview

The principal with teaching staff will interview the written passed candidates.

Documents to be attached

The following documents must be submitted with the complete form:

  • Photocopy of SSC / HSSC Detail marks certificates.
  • Provisional certificates from the institution last attended.
  • 4 passport size photographs. females exempted

Cancellation of admission

The college reserves the right to refuse / cancel the admission of the candidate at any stage who obtains his admission by making any misstatement.

Re-admission

The admission cancelled May Be restored on the recommendation of the admission committee only in case if they are satisfied that the absence whichever the case may be was not willful or due to circumstance beyond human control provided such application is submitted winthin ten days of the order .The students will then have to submit a readmission fee of Rs. 500 and all outstanding dues.

Migration

Migration from the college is not allowed. However if a student wants to migrate outside the college shall have to deposit 80% of tuition fee before they are allowed to migrate.

Fee structure

The college fee inclusive of all other funds is charged for 12 months during an academic year. The fee rates are liable for revision as and when found necessary, by the Board of Directors, for which advanced notice will be issued. The rates currently chargeable are:

Importance

The students shall pay the prescribed tuition fees for 12 months in a year. The admission fee is payable in advance for each academic year. Admission fee once paid cannot be refunded under any circumstances whether the student has not attended classes or not. Monthly fees are payable in advance before 15 of every month. Students will receive a fine of Rs. 10 per day after of every month.

  • Tuition fee can be received at the time of admission.
  • Admission fee will not be refunded in case of withdrawal or expulsion from the college.
  • Students needing financial help will get concession in tuition fee pervaded they carry and show excellent academic record.
  • If a student leaves the college without notification to the office in writing, he/she will forfeit his/her security refund and must pay all fines and other outstanding fees and dues

Attendance

  • When the teacher enters the classroom, the student should stand up as mark of respect remain as such till they are directed to sit or the teacher takes his / her seat.
  • Every student is required to attend punctually at the time notified for lectures and practical.
  • The student signed by his / her father should send a written application to the principal only on account of sickness or special emergency considered justifiable by the principal.
  • No student is allowed to leave the lecture room and practical class without the permission of his/her teacher or until the class is dismissed.
  • All irregularities, neglected of duties and break of discipline and action taken are to be brought to the notice of the principal by the teacher.
  • Political activity is forbidden in the college .No student may create a disturbance in the college or disfigure college property with slogans, mottoes etc.
  • The student and his /her father/guardian will have to assure the college through a written undertaking that the student will, in no case, lead a strike or demonstration whatsoever within college premises. Infringement will result in the student's name being struck off the college rules.
  • Use of cellular phones on the college campus is forbidden.

Absenteeism

A fine of Rs. 10 per day will be imposed in case any student remains absent without permission/leave from the class. In case a student remains absent for more than 6 days, his/her name will be struck off. Such a student will be re-admitted on payment of Rs.500 as re-admission fee.

For an absence just before or after a holiday, the fine is Rs.50/per day. Fines of every month are payable up to 10th of next month. In case of non-payment disciplinary action will be taken against the defaulters and parents will Be Informed accordingly.

Vacations and holidays

Chitral Model College will observe all official holidays as notified by the Government of Pakistan/Government of NWFP. Besides it, the college observes the following vacations.

  • Winter vacation (January - One Month )
  • Summer vacations (July-One month)

Ideological orientation

Special emphasis is laid on the broad Islamic orientation of the students and concerned efforts are made to inculcate patriotism in them. Eminent scholars and personalities will be invited to speak to the students on the relevant subjects.

Sports facilities

Sports facilities are provided to the students for their mental and physical trainings.

Examination System

  • Every student shall have to take in house monthly and terminal examinations, the later every three months. Those who fail to qualify 2 terminal examinations shall stand disqualified to take detention examination.
  • Reports AbOUT the monthly and terminal examination will be sent to the parent/guardians directly for their information.
  • However, a student will be fined Rs.50 for being absent from a monthly test and Rs.100 per paper for being absent from a terminal examination.

Detention Policy

The college has its own detention policy, which is observed strictly. A student shall liable to be detained, if:

  1. He/she has attended less than 75% of the lectures delivered in each subject.
  2. He/she has attended fewer than 10 practical classes in each science subject.
  3. He/she fail three subjects in two terminal examinations.

Code of Conduct

Student, teacher and parents are the important pillars of citadel of learning. Unless these three stand firm and work with understanding and vision, it will be difficult for any institution or individuals to achieve success. The student, however, holds a key position carrying during the studies, the responsibility of including in himself/herself the virtues of "faith and discipline" which are the pre-requisite for a successful career.

it is therefore, expected and desired that the students in the pursuit of education, will maintain strict discipline and respect rules and regulations so as an atmosphere, purely of learning and academics prevails in the college. Violation of discipline or using unfair and dishonest means in the examination will make the guilty liable to discipline or using unfair and fine, suspension, placing on probation and even expulsion due to gross indiscipline, fees and all the other deposits will be forfeited.

General Guidelines of Discipline

  1. Students are forbidden to sing, whistle, create noise or indulge in any unseemly behavior or activity in the college.
  2. Students will not bring any outsider to the college.
  3. Any student breaking or damaging any college property shall be requires to pay the cost or repair or replace. In case of willful damage he/she shall be punished, as principal may deem fit.
  4. Parents/guardians are expected to co-operate with authorities of the college by prevailing upon their words not to take part in anti-institutional activities.
  5. All teachers are accessible at any time for the consideration of difficulties and grievance of the students and will always be pleased to hear them and to give them advice.
  6. If a student of the college takes part in a political activity or conducts himself/herself in an unbecoming manner or in such manner as would interfere with the corporate life or educational work of the college, the principal may take any action he deems proper.
  7. Students are strictly prohibited to keep firearms and other weapons. The possession/use of narcotics is also strictly prohibited. Anyone found in possession of using narcotics or firearms will be expelled from the hostel immediately and if he does not improve and continues to indulge in taking the [...], he will be expelled from the college.
  8. Inciting anyone to violence, disruption of peaceful gestures which may cause resentment and offending other individuals is forbidden.
  9. Staging, inciting or participating in, or abetting any walk-out, strike, or other form of agitation against the college is strictly prohibited.
