Centennial Aviation Club

The Centennial Aviation Club is a student-run flying club based at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The club offers team building activities such as flights, hot-air ballooning, skydiving and rafting.

History

Founded in 2006 by Captain Rohan K. Bhatia, at Centennial High School in Roswell, Georgia, the Centennial Aviation Club is one of the few student-run flying clubs in the state. In an effort to promote aviation to other students in the metropolitan Atlanta area, the club moved its base of operations to DeKalb Peachtree Airport. In 2009, it grew to include members from Fulton Science Academy.

Operations

CAC's aim is to promote aviation to students still in school and who are considering aviation as a possible career path.

The club offers free first flights to new members. It operates a number of light aircraft including the Cessna 172, Cessna 182, Mooney M20C Piper Archer II SUPER Decathlon and AMD Zodiac CH601XLi light sport aircraft.

The Centennial Aviation Club is also an educational organization in which members attend monthly meetings to learn more AbOUT the diverse field of aviation through hands on activities and tours of facilities such as the control tower, hangars and more.
