CE Caddy

CE Caddy is an online database for electronic filing and tracking of continuous education certificates for various professionals. Started in 2009, it helps professionals maintain records to facilitate the retrieval of the requested records in the event of an audit.

Audits of professionals occurs after the renewal of their license within the state they are licensed. When renewing their licenses they are discouraged from submitting their CE (continuous education) certificates at that time. They are to collect their certificates and produce records of them upon an audit by the state regulating board. If the licensed professional cannot produce information of the mandatory education certificates, they are susceptible to discipline including fines and suspension of their license. These certificate requirements are determined by each states' regulating board for each profession. Each state determines which CE providers will be accepted in accordance with credentialing. Many states use providers accredited by credentialing groups such as the ANCC (American Nurses Credentialing Center) http://www.nursecredentialing.org/ or the NLNAC( National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission ) http://www.nlnac.org/home.htm - both of these organizations specialize in nursing CE providers.
