Carroll Meadows Golf Course
Carroll Meadows Golf Course is located in Carrollton, Ohio. The course was built upon what was formerly owners Emil and MaryAnn Pozderac's family farm.
The course serves as the home course for the local high school golf team, The Carrollton Warriors.
The 18-hole course has a par of 71 (35 front and 36 back). Holes #7, #8, #9, are referred to by some as "Hell's Corner".
Hole #7 is a 197 yard par 3 with a tee shot that reqires you to carry 160 yards over a pond into a green that is surrounded by a hill on the left, a valley to the right and woods directly behind the green.
Hole #8 is a 396 yard par 4 that is ranked the #1 most difficult hole on the scorecard. Woods and a creek line the entire left side from the tee to the green. You must hit your drive over another creek that runs through the entire width of the hole AbOUT 125-150 yards from the tee in order to reach the fairway. Just short of the green, yet another creek cuts through the narrow fairway. Birdie's on this hole are not common. One should be happy to end up with a par.
Hole #9 is a 379 yard par 4 dogleg right with the same creek as #8 running up most of the left side and woods running up half of the right side. The green is what makes #9 such a challenge. It is one of the most severely sloped greens on the course, and if you are above the hole and miss you run the chance of running all the way off the green.
Escaping these three final holes of the front nine without getting into much trouble is an accomplishment to say the least.
