Carlyn Nuyda Calloway

Carlyn Nuyda Calloway is a Filipino-American fashion designer based in the United States. She is the daughter of American businessman, Robert Clinton Suntay Nuyda, and Filipino mother, Rocio Casimiro Nuyda. Her late father was a highly successful and respected businessman whose expertise in travel and tourism led him and his family to many places around the world. Her mother, an educated woman also ran an atelier in the Philippines showcasing some of the country's most acclaimed designers of the time. In 1987, the family moved to the United States where Carlyn Nuyda-Calloway completed her education.

In 1997, she introduced the first collection of handmade "Thumbelina" tiaras and veils

Her headpieces have attracted the attention of some notable clients (e.g. Julia Roberts) in the entertainment industry, as well as leading bridal magazines such as Brides, Wedding BElls, InStyle Weddings Issue and many more. In 2006, the editors of InStyle Weddings Magazine published a 500 page book featuring the best of the bridal industry's leaders where her handmade accessories were beautifully showcased. Her works have also been included in feature films (Along came Polly) and ABC TV's The View with Barbara Walters.

Ten years later in 2007, she launched her first bridal gowns collection under the label Carlyn Nuyda Calloway for Thumbelina, garnering recognition for her acute attention to personal touch and delicate details. Her atelier, located in Los Angeles, CA focuses on couture made-to-measure gowns, all customized from start to finish.
