Calligraphist (artist)
Georgi Ivanov (born June 9, 1991) known under the pseudonym Calligraphist is a Bulgarian-born emcee and poet particularly recognized for his artistic work within the genre of lyricism.
At age 20, Calligraphist emerged as a winner at Hip-Hop legends Kool G Rap and DJ White Shadow’s emcee competition held in English, competing against predominantly US and Canadian emcees. Calligraphist is the first and only rapper as of date to overcome the language barrier of his native tongue and achieve international success in a foreign language directly due to his belletristic and verbal skills in English.
Discography
Although having been active in music for nearly a decade, Calligraphist is yet to release his full length debut album. The body of work will be entitled “Ballads of a Traveler” and is expected to be released in late 2014.
