Burnout (Green Day song)

Burnout is a song by American punk rock band Green Day from their hugely popular
major label debut album Dookie. Burnout is Track 1 on the Dookie CD and is 2:07 minutes long. Written by lead singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, Burnout is a song about apathy and not wanting to grow up. Popular music magazine Rolling Stones ran a readers poll on the top 15 favorite Green Day songs, Burnout placed in 7th, despite never being released as a single.
