Bundora United FC
Bundoora United FC is an Australian football (soccer) team based in South Morang, Melbourne, Australia. They currently play in the Mens Provisional League Div 3 North-West.
History
Bundoora United began as a junior football(soccer) club in 1978. Their home ground was Sycamore Reserve, off Hawkes Drive, Bundoora. After years of only sporting junior teams, 2007 saw Bundoora granted spots for a senior and reserves team in the Provisional League 3 Div South-East.
2007
2007 was a year of change for the Bundoora Junior Soccer Club, who now became a senior club- changing the club name to Bundoora United FC. This also came with a home ground update, which moved the club's home ground to Hillview Reserve, off The Great Eastern Way, South Morang. The New home ground boasts modern clubrooms, two well conditioned pitches and nearby synthetic pitches for training purposes.
The 2007 season saw two new squads finding their feet in a new environment. Points were scarce during the season for the senior squad- who eventually snatched some wins in the latter part of the season.
2008
The 2008 season saw Bundoora United granted a spot in the North-West area of Provisional League 3. Less travel for away games was a good sign as the senior squad acquired some fresh and inspiring talent. Despite a flying start to the season, vital points were lost in the latter stages as the senior squad just missed out on a promotion to Provisional League 2, finishing third behind Watsonia Heights and Epping City.
2009
The 2009 season is looking promising for Bundoora United, having acquired an even more experienced squad with lots of talent. The start to the season hasn't been too bad for the seniors, who have lost some points but are still improving game by game. The reserve squad sits 3 points clear on top spot, having an undefeated start to the 09 season.
