Broadmoor (album)
Broadmoor is a 10 track album by the metal band Byzantine, recorded in 2003.
Almost a full year prior to The Release of The Fundamental Component Byzantine went into Broadmoor Studios in Huntington, WV to record their first CD for the now defunct DK Entertainment. The CD was recorded, but the label was having financial troubles, and wasn't able to release it immediately. This is where the "2003 European Sampler EP" comes into play. The band, with the help of Caustic Eye Productions, produced approximately 300-400 copies of the 6 song EP so they would have something new to sell while they were on tour with Lamb of God.
In the meantime, the band hooked up and consequently got a record deal with Prosthetic. They were still under a contract with DK, so the agreement was reached that DK would release their version of the CD in Europe, and the band would re-record the entire album for a US release by Prosthetic. DK went under completely, but not before licensing the CD to KMS, a new company started by one of the former officers of DK. KMS had 100 copies pressed up to try to solicit the CD for European distribution. That's as far as it got.
It features all the same tracks as The Fundamental Component except its from a different recording session a year earlier.
