History
Bottle Rocket was founded on March 8, 2008, the day after the iOS app store was announced by STEVE JOBS, by Calvin Carter. After exploring the iPhone platform throughout 2008 with original apps and games, Bottle Rocket worked with its first client partner to develop the NPR News iPhone app for NPR, launching Bottle Rocket's services team. Since the company was founded, Bottle Rocket has grown from 1 employee to over 175 and launched more than 150 apps across various verticals. Since its inception, Bottle Rocket has more than doubled its headcount and revenue each year.
Bottle Rocket has been named one of the top places to work in Dallas, Texas for the last 2 years.
In November 2013, Bottle Rocket was acquired by WPP and is aligned closely with Ogilvy & Mather in the WPP family.

Custom Mobile Development
Bottle Rocket's largest division consists of custom iOS and Android development, which has developed apps for clients like NPR, WWE, NBCUniversal, Fox Broadcasting Company, Sony Music Entertainment, ESPN, Spin (magazine), The Washington Post, CNN, Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Turner Broadcasting System, Scripps Networks Interactive, BMW and many more.
AWE
AWE is Bottle Rocket's TV Everywhere and Second Screen division and software platform for iOS and Android. AWE powers more than 20 US Cable and Broadcast networks like A&E (TV channel), History (TV channel), Food Network, HGTV, Travel Channel, Lifetime (TV network), NBC, Syfy, Bravo (U.S. TV channel), USA Network, Telemundo and more.
Thruster
Thruster is Bottle Rocket's gaming and engagement division. On April 1, 2013 in partnership with WWE, Thruster launched WWE Presents: Rockpocalypse to support Wrestlemania 29. In 2011 Thruster released Annoying Orange: Kitchen Carnage based on the popular YouTube and Cartoon Network series.
