Bishop Ellis Catholic Primary School is a voluntary aided Catholic primary school located in Thurmaston, Leicestershire, England. They educate around 315 pupils aged 5-11 under the direction of the Head teacher Gail Neill.
Academic standards
In the report of the Ofsted inspection on 5 June 2006 the school was rated Good, point two on a four point scale. Each topic was rated outstanding or good with, notably, none less than good. However, the highest possible award of Outstanding was given for the Personal development and well-being of the pupils.
Madeleine McCann
Madeleine McCann would have attended this school from September 2007. On 18 June, as part of the appeal for the safe return of Madeleine, the children lined up in the playground to spell out Find Madeleine. and the school raised £1,500 for the appeal. In August the school announced that they had saved a desk, coat peg and locker for the child.
