Bethel Hispanic Church of God
Bethel Hispanic Church of God, located at 1009 East 14th Avenue in Anchorage, Alaska, is also known as Iglesia de Dios Betel. The name Bethel means "House of God". This church is affiliated to the Church of God (Cleveland). It started as a Hispanic Ministry of the East Park Church of God (also known as Family Worship Center) by Missionary Suinda Melo in the fall of 1984. This church was organized on March 25, 1985 in the sanctuary of East Park Church of God by the Alaska/BC Church of God State Overseer William Thomas Ainsworth. The church was organized with fourteen charter members and Ithiel Torres was appointed as the first official pastor of The New body. In 1992 Elsa Polanco became the second pastor of the church and who during her term led the church to buy its own temple where the church currently conducts services. In December 30, 2001, Moyce Polanco became the pastor of the church.
