Benny, Maja und die Zeitbanditen

The second album and MusicAL called "Benny, Maja und die Zeitbanditen" ("Benny, Maja and the time bandits") and had its premiere on Sunday 26 October 2003. It was written and composed by chormaster Uwe Ungerer and was performed only three times, so it was the lowest successful musical of the choir to date.

The central idea of the musical is that many people haven't got enough time or have arguments, but the songs of the musical will say that these people should use this lost time to enjoy their life and have fun.

History

Recording and Performance

During 2002 and 2003 Uwe Ungerer wrote and composed the songs for the musical and excogitate the whole plot of it. Cause the first musical "Das Wasser des Lebens" was so successful, the choir nearly doubled and almost 35 children take part in the new musical. So in spring and summer 2003 the CD was recorded by the kids of the choir and the same children who had sung the solo parts on the CD also played the roles at the three performances of the musical. It had its premier on Sunday.

Story

The story is about the main character named Benny, a forsaken boy, whose parents divorced and his friend Maja, who has four other siblings and not many friends. On the christmas eve, they meet each other because no one has time for them. Suddenly, there appear four time bandits Lennox, Sinux, Bonanox and Pollux, who want to steal something from Bennys home. The two children ask the bandits if they could travel with them through the time. The bandits agree and they end up "running into" Napoleon, Johanna from Orleans, Marilyn Monroe, Cleopatra and many other famous persons. In the end Benny's mother who has been searching them, finds them at the pyramids of Cleopatra. She apologizes for her bad behavior and they all go back home.

Characters

• Benny- he is, beside Maja, the main character of the musical, a forsaken boy
• Maja- she is the best friend of Benny and she has got 4 siblings
• Bennys' Mutter- she is very busy and hasn't got much time for her son
• Lennox- the leader of the time-bandits, he comes out of the Middle Ages
• Sinux- time-bandit; he comes out of the baroque
• Bonanox- female time-bandit; she comes out of the 70's
• Pollux- second female time-bandit; she comes out of the future

Alongside these main-characters, there are also some other person, who are a part of the musical, for example Napoleon, Johanna von Orleans, Hildegard von Bingen, Marilyn Monroe, Ludwig van Beethoven or Cleopatra.
