Ben Thilthorpe

Ben Thilthorpe (born August 20, 1978) is an Australian ice hockey player currently playing for the Adelaide Adrenaline in the Australian Ice Hockey League.

Playing career

Thilthorpe first played ice hockey in 2000 for the Adelaide Avalanche of the Australian Ice Hockey League (AIHL). He continued to play for the Avalanche until part way through the 2008 AIHL season where the team folded and withdrew from the league. During the 2005 AIHL season Thilthorpe scored a personal best in points finishing with seven goals and thirteen points. In 2011 Thilthorpe returned to ice hockey after a two years break, he joined the Adelaide Adrenaline of the AIHL and is also a member of the Blackhawks of the South Australia state leagues.

Thilthorpe was first called up to represent Australia in 1999 where he joined the national senior team to compete in the 1999 IIHF World Championship Pool D tournament. In 2011 he represented Australia for the seventh time during the 2011 IIHF World Championship Division II Group A tournament. Australia won the tournament after winning all of their four games and finishing first in the group standings.

Personal life

Thilthorpe was born on August 20, 1978 in Adelaide, South Australia, Australia. Thilthorpe is an admitted barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court of South Australia and has worked for Michael Woods & Co. Barristers & Solicitors since 2010. He is married and has three children.
