Battle of Gllamnik
The Battle of Gllamnik was part of the wider Battle of Podujevo, fought between Yugoslav forces and the Kosovo Liberation Army from 23–27 December 1998 in the Podujevo area during the Kosovo War.“During the fighting … in the village of Gllamnik on 24 December 1998, Hetem Zeqir Selmani… Salih Zeqir Selmani… Mirsad Hakif Abdullahu… and Behxhet Ramiz Maqani were killed.
Background
In early 1998, armed conflict escalated in Kosovo between Yugoslav security forces and the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). Several villages in the region, including Gllamnik, experienced increased military presence and clashes as part of wider counter-insurgency operations.
Battle
Fighting in and around Gllamnik occurred in late 1998 as Yugoslav security forces engaged KLA units operating in the area. The clashes resulted in multiple fatalities and formed part of a broader series of engagements during the Kosovo War.
