Barry Goers

Barry Goers (born June 14, 1986) is an American professional ice hockey defenceman. He is currently playing with the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Playing career

Goers attended the University of Massachusetts Lowell where he played four seasons of NCAA Division I college hockey with the UMass Lowell River Hawks men's ice hockey team. Following his graduation, Goers turned professional to join the Las Vegas Wranglers of the ECHL for the final games and playoffs of their 2009–10 ECHL season.

In his third season with the Wranglers in 2011–12, Goers helped Las Vegas reach the Kelly cup finals. His successful season was noted with two stints in the American Hockey League, initially with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers before impressing in his latter spell with the Lake Erie Monsters to post 7 points in 19 games to remain until the end of the season. Goers was then rewarded with a one-year AHL contract with the Monsters for the following 2012–13 season.
