B-Players Theatre

The B-Players Theatre, which is now closed, was located in Hollywood. It started off slowly as a community theatre known as the B-Theatre, which catered to older and family crowds.

Beginnings

In the mid-1990's, a new creative team stepped in and produced one of the toughest panels of theatre professionals from all over the country and auditioned actors choosing a select group of talent to showcase and build shows around. It was those actors who became the "B-Players".

Successes

Perhaps the most successful show was the MusicAL Grease, which ran for three months, with many sold-out weekends, and people saw the show repeatedly, even camping out to get tickets. Press coverage and Critical Acclaim also added to the shows success which picked up several HYPE awards.

Other popular shows produced were The Diary Of Anne Frank and Women And Wallace.

Closure

Unfortunately, politics became involved within the city, and investors turned to other nearby venue's forcing the theatre to close. But, the B-Players remains in the hearts of many young actors who have since gone onto Broadway, National Tours, and many, many regional productions.
