Avadhoota Datta Peetham

Avadhoota Datta Peetham is the ashram of His Holiness Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda. It is located in the city of palaces, Mysore, India. People come from around the world to study, celebrate holy days and steep themselves in Vedic tradion and spiritual practices.

Sri Sri Sri Ganapathi Sachidananda Swamiji is the Pontiff of Avadhoota Datta Peetham at Sri Ganapati Sachchidananda Ashrama(SGS) in Mysore, India. Sri Swamiji is renowned for His Healing and Meditation music and he is considered as divinity in flesh who cultivates The Ancient Vedic traditions. He was born fully realised in command of the eight Mahasiddhas and is a master in the Dattatreya Avadhoota lineage.1

Sri Swamiji is one of the rare souls who have taken human form to help scores of people to realize the true purpose of human life. Sri Swamiji uses music perfectly to heal a lot of people and ensure that their sufferings are lessened. Music is also a medium through which spiritual development happens in people who consider swamiji as a beacon of their life's light.

The ashram in mysore is a place that reverbates with spiritual vibrations and people throng there on all days to catch a GLIMPSE of swamiji. On special occasions like Datta Jayanti, Mahashivaratri and Navaratri celebrations, the fervour reaches its zenith and people drink in the nectar of pure bliss and peace. Ashrama has many interesting places to see. The Universal Prayer Hall is a community prayer place with a large Marble temple of Lord Dattatreya. It also has a Shiva temple, A Homa Place for fire worship, Small shrines of Lakshmi Narasimha, Ganapathy and Vishalakshi.

Vishwam Museum is a three stories building which houses all the gifts received by Ashrama and Swamiji over the past four decades. The exhibits are divided in different subjects. The philately collection on 3rd floor is very interesting. It displays all stamps issued after India gained independence. Worthy of mention are Dinosaur egg, Baby dino head, Stalactite, Stalagmite, Ganapathy Collection etc.,

Kishkindha Moolika Vana is India's largest Bonsai plant garden. It i situated right next to the Vishwam museum. The large variety of plants is amazing. Sri Swamiji is a great environmentalist. He has personally developed gardens for nine planets, 12 zodiac signs, Sapta Rishis or seven sages, The sprawling Cactus garden is also wonderful.
