Auchinawa
Auchinawa is an anime convention based in Glasgow, Scotland first held in 2006 and the first anime convention to be held in Scotland. A winter date means it does not overlap with other UK conventions.
Auchinawa 2006
The Auchinawa 2006 convention was run between the 30 November and 3 December 2006, at The Quality Hotel (known to some as the Central Hotel), which is located in the very heart of Glasgow's town centre and is partially inside Glasgow Central train station. The number of available spaces was decreased to 450 (totalling 600 people including guests and ancillaries) from over a thousand.

Additionally, standard Anime Convention events such as a Masquerade, dealers' rooms, video rooms, artists' alley, and CCG rooms were part of the convention.
Auchinawa 2008
Auchinawa 2008 will take place from the 14th-16th of November 2008. The venue is the Holiday Inn near Glasgow International Airport. Registrations are slated to open in early January 2008.
In the press
Auchinawa was featured in a small comedy sketch about video game costumes in Video Gaiden. The show was shown on December 5, 2006.
