Ashish Kashyap

Ashish Kashyap is an Indian entrepreneur, best known as the founder and CEO of INDmoney, a personal finance and investment platform. He previously founded the ibibo Group (the parent of Goibibo and redBus) And Co-founded PayU India, and earlier served as the country head of Google's India operations.

Early life and education

Kashyap studied economics (Honours) at Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi. He later completed a Master of Management through the International Masters Program for Managers (IMPM), a joint executive program of McGill University's Desautels Faculty of Management, INSEAD, and other partner schools.

Early career and Google India

Kashyap began his career at Indiatimes.com, where he built and ran e-commerce and online travel businesses. He subsequently joined Google as country head for India, where he was involved in setting up the company's India-facing operations.

ibibo Group

In the mid-2000s, Kashyap founded the ibibo Group, which went on to operate the travel booking platform Goibibo and the bus-ticketing service redBus. He also co-founded the payments company PayU India in 2011 under the same group.

On 18 October 2016, MakeMyTrip Limited and the ibibo Group announced an agreement to combine their businesses in an all-share transaction, with the combined entity's value estimated at $1.8 billion; the merger completed on 31 January 2017. Following the merger, Kashyap joined MakeMyTrip's executive team as co-founder and president of the combined organization.

INDmoney

Kashyap founded INDmoney, launched in 2018–2019, as a personal finance platform allowing users to track net worth, expenses, and investments, and to invest in Indian and US equities, mutual funds, and the National Pension System (NPS) from a single app.

Under Kashyap, INDmoney positioned itself as a leading platform for Indian retail investors to access US stocks, and reported crossing 10 million users and app downloads by 2023. Investors in the company have included Tiger Global, Steadview Capital, Dragoneer Investment Group, and Sixteenth Street Capital, along with individual backers such as Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal.

Recognition

Kashyap has been included in industry recognitions such as a Naspers award (2017) and a LinkedIn Power Profile listing (2017), and has been named among promising entrepreneurs by Indian business media.
