Art By Chance Film Festival
The Art by Chance Film Festival or Art by Chance Ultra Short Film Festival is a public art event that takes place in 26 countries, 260 cities around the world. It presents ultra-short films in unexpected and non-theatrical venues, such as subways, buses, airports, cafes, malls, trains, sports centers, art galleries, museums and bars. The movies are one minute long, presenting a single idea, without rules or guidelines. Submission of a video brings facing a professional jury that puts one’s skills to the test.
History
Inspired by a moment of contemplation in an Istanbul metro station, Art By Chance exists since 2009.
1st Edition
HOME themed first Art By Chance Festival came out in 2009.
2nd Edition
Art by Chance 2010 took place in several countries in May 2010 and cities around the world again. ART BY CHANCE submission was open for TIME themed 30 second films.
Art by Chance 2010 has set out to explore how the perception of time is unique to every individual and how time can influence the narrative of city life, one of modern man’s greatest challenges.
3rd Edition
CHANGE themed 3rd edition of Art By Chance was held in 2011. The festival took place simultaneously in Austria, Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Denmark, El Salvador, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Spain, The Netherlands, Turkey, UK and USA

4th Edition
4th Art by Chance Ultra Short Film Festival, organized by ANBEAN took place in October in 2012. HOME themed 30 second short film for the festival and reached millions of people all around the world.
5th Edition
The festival takes place simultaneously in more than 20 + countries, 200+ cities worldwide. The festival will be held on January 15th,2015

Selection
- The selection of movies that will be screened within ABC will be handled by an international jury.
- The jury will be composed of different backgrounds (cinema professionals, film makers, curators etc.).
- The jury will select the best entries after viewing all the entries. Number of the films in the selection depends on quality level of that year's entries.
- Each member of the jury will be asked to give a score to every entry regarding artistic, theme and technical aspects of the participating film.
- The jury’s decision will be final and no discussions will be engaged in, regarding the final selection of ABC.
