Anthony Fernandez (baseball)

Anthony Fernandez is a professional baseball starting pitcher who is a free agent.

On September 29, 2006, Fernandez signed with the Seattle Mariners as a non-drafted free agent. He pitched both 2007 and 2008 with the DSL Mariners, pitching 5-6 with a 3.89 ERA while striking out 63 in 74 innings. He pitched 2009 with the AZL Mariners, pitching 5-3 with a 3.40 ERA in 13 games while striking out 53 in 53 innings. He pitched 2010 with Low-A Everett, going 8-3 with a 2.59 ERA in 15 starts while striking out 69 in 83.1 innings. He pitched 2011 mostly with Single-A Clinton, going 7-4 with a 2.80 ERA in 19 starts while striking out 107 in 125.1 innings. He split 2012 with High-A High Desert and Double-A Jackson pitching a combined 6-8 with a 3.51 ERA in 27 starts while striking out 134 in 164 innings. After the season, Fernandez was added to the 40-man roster to be protected from the Rule V Draft.
