Amjad Jauhari
Amjad Jauhari () known as Allama Amjad Jauhari (), is an Islamic scholar, religious leader and public speaker from the Shi'ite sect of Islam.
Biography
Jauhari belongs to a religious family which has produced many scholars. Jauhari is the son of Islamic Scholar and Mufassir-e-Quran Talib Jauhari, who is widely respected among all the Islamic sects as Da'i-e-Ittihad bain al Muslemeen.
Jauhari has been addressing Majalis-e-Sham-e-Ghareeban on different Pakistani television Channels, including PTV and GEO, since 1990 and is known for his Fehm ul Quran Series which was the most popular Quranic teaching program in PTV. He has authored many books on topics like Tafseer, Maqtal, Falsafah-o-Mantiq, Poetry and ilm al-Kalam. Due to Islamic teaching, the Government of Pakistan awarded him with Sitara-i-Imtiaz.
Jauhari is the grandson of Muhammad Mustafa Jauhar. Jauhar was an Islamic scholar, philosopher and poet. He wrote many books on Falsafah; for example, Tawheed o Adal Nahj al-Balagha ki roshni mein and Saboot-e-Khuda; and on Fiqh for example, Aqaid-e-Jaafria and Asool-e-Jaafria. Deewan-e-Mehrab is his poetic work.
Hakeem Muhammad Muslim was the great-grandfather of Amjad Jauhari. Hakim Muslim researched Islamic eschatology and wrote books on Falsafah-e-Barzakh, for example, Alam-e-Barzakh me Halchal.
Jauhari's brothers Asad Jauhari and Riaz Jauhari and his sister Mohtarma Husna Jauhari are also religious scholars and public speakers.
He is the ninth consecutive generation of his family who is involved in teaching Islam.
Education
He received his basic education at the Fountain Head Grammar School Karachi. In 1995 he went to Mashhad, Iran, and joined Hawza ilmia Mashhad, Madrasah Ayatollah-al-ozma Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei where he gained further education from Hujjat Hashmi Khorasani, Bakhtiyari, Ghulam Raza Muhibbii and Syed Ali Jauhari, from whome he learned Fiqh o Usul, Falsafa o Mantiq and Arabic. He graduated from that academy in 2000.
In 2000 he joined Hawza ilmia Mashhad, Madrasah Ilmia Imam Raza, Madrasah-e-Ayatollah-al-ozma Mohammad Hussaini Shirazi. There he studied for five years under the supervision of Sadeq Shirazi. He graduated from that Hawza ilmia in 2005.

Islamic scholar and public speaker
After returning from Iran he has addressed Majalis-e-Aza all over Pakistan and abroad.
Many television channels telecast his Majalis live from different Imambargahs in Lahore during the month of Muharram. During Muharram he addresses Majalis-e-Aza in "Azakhana Qasr-e-Batool" Sanda Road Karishan Nagar lhr, Imambargah "Bab-ul-Ilm Nishat Colony lhr" and many other Imambargahs in Lahore and in other parts of the country.
