Amir Ali Hashmi
SAYED AMIR MUSTAFA HASHMI, (born July 27, 1988), is a legendary Urdu and Punjabi musician, primarily a singer of Qawwali, the devotional music of the Sufis (a mystical tradition within Islam). His band LIVE'A'LIVE has performed in many states and cities. Amir is most famous in Chhattisgarh. He was featured in Time magazine's 2006 list of 'Indian Heroes'. Among other honorary titles bestowed upon him, Amir is called 'Shahenshah-e-Qawwali' in Chhattisgarh, meaning The Emperor of Qawwali. The singing style of Amir Hashmi is very similar to Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.
