American Friends of Arts et Métiers ParisTech

The American Friends of Arts et Métiers ParisTech (also referred to as AFAM) is a nonprofit organization launched in 2007, and registered in Palo Alto, California.

The mission of AFAM is to develop the brand image of École Nationale Supérieure d'Arts et Métiers (also referred to as Arts et Métiers ParisTech) first French Graduate School in the fields of mechanics and industrialization, in the United States. As part of its commitment, this school wants to foster strategic agreements with universities, businesses, nonprofit organizations, and to encourage international mobility among its students.

SHASTA Internship program

Besides marketing the school brand, AFAM facilitates contact between students and companies for the purposes of training and cultural exchange. In January 2010, AFAM launched the Shasta internship program that helps Arts et Metiers ParisTech students get an international experience in U.S. companies, and reinforce their scientific/technological knowledge.

Meetings

AFAM often rallies the Arts et Métiers ParisTech community spread across the United States around common programs and activities (parties, evening performances, picnics...). The events are times for alumni and students to gather together and to meet new people.

Promotion

To fulfill its objectives in the United States, a permanent Arts et Métiers ParisTech Representative and alumni of the school, Rizlene Bouchemoua has been hired since December 2011.
