Alexandra P. Davis

Alexandra P. Davis is a Jamaican-American politician who is a member of the Broward County Commission representing District 7, which includes portions of Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and Hollywood. She previously served on the Miramar City Commission from 2010 to 2024, including as Vice Mayor.

Early life and education

Davis was born in England and raised in Jamaica. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of the West Indies at its Mona campus.

Miramar City Commission

Davis was first elected to the Miramar City Commission in 2010, winning Seat 4 from a field of six candidates and taking office in November 2010. She became Vice Mayor of Miramar in 2013 and was reappointed to the position in subsequent years. She was re-elected unopposed to her Commission seat in Miramar's March 2023 election.

Broward County Commission

In 2024, Davis ran for the Broward County Commission's District 7 seat, a district redrawn to cover the southern part of the county along the Miami-Dade border, including Hollywood, Miramar, Pembroke Pines, and West Park. She was elected without opposition in the November 5, 2024 general election. She continued on the Miramar Commission until she became a county commissioner on November 19, 2024.
