Alan Qassab
Alan Qassab (Kurdish: ئالان قەساب) is a distinguished Iraqi Kurdish dentist, assistant professor, consultant in oral and maxillofacial surgery and an orthodontist. He is considered to be one of the best orthodontists and oral and maxillofacial surgeons in Erbil and the Kurdistan Region. Currently, he is the dean of dentistry in Knowledge University. Also, he is the general manager in Smile Infinity in Dream City, Erbil. He used to be the general manager of Salamati Hospital and head of the department of oral and maxillofacial surgery in Tishk University. Alan Qassab has been the first international speaker in dentistry from the Kurdistan Region and Iraq, participating in many dental conferences, including the MGM Implant Prosthetics Conference in Turkey and the AIDC Conference in Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He is also the first Iraqi member of the British Academy of Implant Dentistry Advisory Board.
Dr. Alan Qassab holds multiple advanced qualifications, including FDSRCPS and MOMSRCPS in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, alongside a master’s degree in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a High Diploma in orthodontics at University of Sulaimani. He is internationally recognized as the first dentist in the Middle East to hold dual specialties in orthodontics and oral & maxillofacial surgery. Early Life
Alan Haydar Qassab was born on April 10, 1980, in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan. He spent his early years in Erbil, where he developed an interest in dentistry. He was later accepted at Salahaddin University, where he obtained a bachelor’s degree of dental surgery in 2002. He pursued further postgraduate training, and in 2005, he earned a High Degree Diploma in orthodontics in the University of Sulaimani, graduating with the top rank in his specialty. He continued his academic advancement by obtaining a Master of Science (MSc) in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Hawler Medical University in 2009. In 2011, he achieved MOMSRCPS in oral and maxillofacial surgery from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, further strengthening his international professional credentials.
