Differences
Science fiction adventure is a genre which tends to stay inside the realms of science fiction with elements of fantasy usually portraying a hero or main character as the central figure against an equal opponent with overwhelming odds. Some may contend the Predator series as a prime example of traditional science-fiction adventure because the main character is in equal terms to its opponent. This is another borderline case between sci-fiction horror and sci-fi adventure. Another borderline example is Star wars in the case that the sequels are regarded as science fiction. Return of the Jedi is regarded as Sci-fi adventure, whilst the other two movies Empire Strikes back and a New Hope is traditional science fiction. The later prequels are regarded as Science fiction fantasy due to their approach with unbelievable events and magical elements. Another classic example of a borderline plot is the movie Avatar, whom makes the science fiction story into an unbelievable theme that is not scientifically proven such as lush organic life on the lunar surface of a moon, therefore it is regarded as science-fiction fantasy. The differences between Science fiction Adventure and other genres are proven to remain as a cultural impact on the film and game industry.
