Adam Spence (race driver)

Adam Spence (born in New South Wales, Australia) is the owner of the RedBackRacing team and a racing driver. As a driver, he has competed in two Targa Tasmania's, once in the East Coast Targa and twice in Targa New Zealand. As a navigator he has competed in Targa New Zealand once.

Targa Racing

In 2002, Adam competed the first Targa New Zealand in a Fraser Clubman which ultimately proved to be the wrong type of car for Targa style racing. The following year was spent on custom building a Mazda MX5 for the coming years even, again Targa New Zealand. Whilst competing in that event the team had a major accident putting the car precariuosly close to a cliff. The following year this car again competed in Targa New Zealand. Early the team raced the RedMX5 in the now defunct East Coast Targa based in Sydney and country New South Wales.

The following year the team moved up to the premier Targa event, Targa Tasmania in a newly purchased Toyota MR2 Spider. The car performed better then expected and the team placed second in class (under two litre naturally aspirated. After this race the Toyota was sold to make way for a Renault Sport Spider. The Renault unfortunately suffered mechanical failure and the race was completed in the RedMX5 which due to the change of car the team recorded no placement in Targa Tasmania.

Circuit Racing

In 2006, Adam competed in the Island Magic race at Phillip Island.

Karting

In 2005, 2006 and 2007, Adam has been competing in numerous 12 and 24 Kart event around the world.
