Adam Kane (author)
Adam Kane traveled extensively through Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas writing and recording his experiences with a disposable camera. In 2002,the story “The Argumentarian” was published for which he was awarded a National Endowment of the Arts prize the following year. In 2003 Kane was in Kosovo writing field reports for the Prague Daily when he was injured after a mortar exploded leaving lead shrapnel embedded in his left shoulder. During his recovery Kane wrote the 6 hr, one act play,“ Corrosion” which was staged at the Sigurjonsson Theater, Reykjavik,Iceland.
In 2004 Kane’s first full-length collection of poems and stories titled, “ Do You Kiss Death One Last Time?” was published to wide acclaim. Kane also wrote, produced and directed the short film, “Smiles of Summer”. In June 2008, Kane relocated to a small village outside of Port-au-Prince, Haiti, where he will complete his first novel dealing with the concept of isolation.
His stories and poems have appeared in more than three hundred literary journals throughout Europe, the U.S.A and New Zealand and his photographs have been seen in galleries across Britain and Australia.
