Academy of Health Sciences is an academic, not-for-profit, public institution of higher education established in 2011 in Syria with the charter granted by the Council of Higher Education. The stated aim of the academy is to work in close partnership with the national health system to improve the health care services in Syria in addition to provide high education medical studies for students. Currently Academy of Health Sciences has been running School of Paramedics, School of Nursing and School of Physical Therapy. The academy has adopted a curriculum that emphasizes on academic health and is subsequently provides support for its graduates who work in conflict areas.

History

Academy of Health Sciences was established in 2011 with the charter granted by the Council of Higher Education by a previous Act. Academy of Health Sciences has its own constitution passed by the Ministry of High Education in Syria, under the name Academy of Health Sciences. Act, 2011. In 2014, with the help of Syrian Expateriate Medical Association Syrian Expateriate Medical Association (SEMA)SEMA many training projects were launched following international academic standards. In 2017, the Academy launched a massive training program, opened new schools and began a plan to form an international medical community containing several medical schools. The Academy of Health Sciences is a good response to the urgent need that resulted from the Civil seven-year war in Syria

Schools

Academy of Health Sciences has three schools with the goal to establish new schools which are School of Paramedics, School of Nursing and School of Physical Therapy. The Academy is following two years study for many of its courses and 4 years studies for the rest of the courses. The academy also has international tie up for the clinical organizations all over the world. It is soon going to start many schools, and post graduate course in clinical sciences.
