AbdelGhany Ramadan

Abdelghany Ramadan (in Arabic عبد الغني رمضان) (born in Barja, Lebanon 14 July 1995) is a Lebanese footballer who was signed as a midfielder for Manchester City Academy. He is reportedly the first Lebanese national to play in Manchester City. Prior he had played as a junior for Ashton United in Greater Manchester area.

Career

The 18-year-old from the coastal town of Barja immigrated to Belgium at a young age joining academy side Anderlecht before his football talents saw him sign for Greater Manchester side Ashton United.

In 2007 Ramadan moved to Manchester, England to play with Greater Manchester team Ashton United for 5 years becoming a main player in the team. It was not long before Ramadan’s promising performances for Ashton caught the attention of Manchester City scouts, whose recommendations resulted in him joining the 2012 and 2013 Premier League champions.

Abdelghany Ramadan is fluent in 3 languages, English, Arabic and Dutch and has a big fan base back in Lebanon and is known by his nickname "Boudy". The Barja native remains eligible to represent the Lebanese national team, an opportunity he relishes and will address once he has finished his studies in England. In an interview with the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation television station (LBC), Abdelghany Ramadan has expressed interest in joining the Lebanon National side.
