84th Marine Battalion (Reserve)

The 84th Marine Battalion (Reserve), is one of the marine battalions of the Philippine Navy Reserve Command, which is organic to the Naval Reserve Center - West, particularly the 8th Marine Brigade (Reserve). It is a naval infantry or marine unit, and specializes in Urban Operations, disaster relief, and Civil Military Operations.

Its area of responsibility encompasses the entire province of Palawan.

Mission

• Base for expansion of the Regular Force in the event of war, invasion or rebellion within its AOP.
• Assist the Government in Relief and Rescue Operations in the event of Calamities or Disasters.
• Assist the Government in Socio-economic development and environmental concerns.
• Assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government and private utilies (e.g. power, telecommunications, water).
