2nd Avenue (Portland, Oregon)

2nd Avenue are two streets running north–south in Portland, Oregon, in the United States.

Description

Burnside Street separates Northwest 2nd Avenue and Southwest 2nd Avenue on the west side of the Willamette River. The northern terminus of NW 2nd Avenue is at NW Glisan Street, near the Steel Bridge, in the Old Town Chinatown neighborhood. In downtown Portland, the southern terminus of SW 2nd Avenue is SW Market Street; further south, the street runs from SW Arthur Street to SW Gibbs Street. Buildings and other sites along 2nd Avenue on the west side include the Lan Su Chinese Garden, Merchant Hotel, United Carriage and Baggage Transfer Building (which houses the Pine Street Market), and World Trade Center. 2nd Avenue Records is also along the street.

On the east side of the river, Burnside separates Northeast 2nd Avenue and Southeast 2nd Avenue. The northern end of NE 2nd Avenue is NE Hancock Street; SE Market Street serves as the southern terminus of SE 2nd Avenue.
