Boavista's Champions Cup (Taça de Campeões)
Sporting Praia competed in the third edition of their Champions Cup (Taça de Campeões). The club was a Finalist after losing to Boavista on October 30.
Santiago Island League (South)
The 2016-17 season would have a good start starting second place. Their first match was on November 5, the first held in the earliest part of November. The club defeated Eugénio Lima 0-2 a club formerly known as Lapaloma. Sporting Praia later had a draw with Académica 1-1 a week later and the club was third. Sporting regained second place after defeating Benfica Praia on November 18, their first meeting. Sporting is currently second in the regionals.
