1st Iloilo Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve)
The 1st Iloilo Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve), formerly known as the 1st Iloilo Standby Reserve Battalion, is one of the battalions of the Philippine Army Reserve Command, which is organic to the 61st Infantry Division (Standby Reserve). It is an infantry unit, and specializes in Urban Operations, disaster relief, and Civil Military Operations.
Though its status changed from standby to ready reserve, the 1st Iloilo Battalion remains under the operational control of the 61st ID (SR) until a ready reserve division is activated in its area of responsibility.
Their main AOR covers the entire province of Iloilo but they May Be tapped to provide assistance to sister units in nearby provinces. This unit also assists the 82nd Infantry Battalion (Regular) and the 52nd Infantry Battalion (Cadre) of the 8th Infantry Division (Regular) in the conduct of socio-economic development operations within the province of Iloilo. They are also supported by the 505th Technical & Administrative Services Group (Ready Reserve), 5th TAS Brigade (Reserve), AFPRESCOM based in nearby Aklan.
Mission
- Base for expansion of the Regular Force in the event of war, invasion or rebellion within its AOP.
- Assist the Government in Relief and Rescue Operations in the event of Calamities or Disasters.
- Assist the Government in Socio-economic development and environmental concerns.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government and private utilies (e.g. power, telecommunications, water).
