1st Bataan Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve)
The 1st Bataan Infantry Battalion (Ready Reserve), formerly known as the 1st Bataan Standby Reserve Battalion, is one of the battalions of the Philippine Army Reserve Command, which is organic to the 16th Infantry Division (Ready Reserve). It is an infantry unit, and specializes in Low-land Operations, disaster relief, and Civil Military Operations.
The unit prides itself as the direct descendant of the Filipino Fighting Units of World War II. Their main AOR covers the entire province of Bataan but they May Be tapped to provide assistance to sister units in nearby provinces. The unit also assists the regular components of the 7th Infantry Division (Regular) in the conduct of socio-economic development operations within the province of Bataan.
Mission
- Base for expansion of the Regular Force in the event of war, invasion or rebellion within its AOP.
- Assist the Government in Relief and Rescue Operations in the event of Calamities or Disasters.
- Assist the Government in Socio-economic development and environmental concerns.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of essential government and private utilies (e.g. power, telecommunications, water).
