Livinguard Better Fresh, marketed under the tradename Livinguard BF, is a textile finishing treatment produced by Livinguard Technologies AG. It was introduced in 2025 by Livinguard Technologies AG, a Swiss materials science company.

Livinguard Better Fresh is a water-based finishing treatment applied after dyeing during textile manufacturing to fabric or garments. The product is primarily used to provide odor control functionality while at the same time reducing microfiber shedding from textiles. The Livinguard Better Fresh technology works by functionalizing textile surfaces through a permanent positive chemical surface charge derived from a proprietary blend of cationic polymers. The solution is reported to electrostatically attract odor compounds and then neutralize them through a chemical reaction converting them into odorless salts. This mode of action differs from antimicrobial odor control technologies which target to prevent odor build-up by [...] odor-causing bacteria or odor capture technologies that absorb odors through mesoporous high-surface-area particles.

Livinguard Technologies states that the solution has been successfully tested for deodorant properties as per ISO 17299 and has shown efficacy to neutralize a broad range of odorants including Isovaleric Acid, Acetic Acid, Nonenal, Indole, and Ammonia. Furthermore, the company markets the solution as highly wash-durable for up to 100x home laundries as per AATCC 135. The company claims that testing under relevant protocols such as AATCC TM 212, ISO 4484, or DIN SPEC 4872 showed reductions in fiber fragment release of up to 80% by weight and by number.

The company states that Livinguard Better Fresh can be applied across different materials and fabric constructions within existing finishing processes, and that it does not require special equipment or training. The company has described it as a cost-effective option to tackle fiber fragmentation over the textile’s total lifecycle.

Applications include everyday apparel, formal wear, reusable personal hygiene products, home furnishings and upholstery, household textiles, pet products, uniforms and workwear, underwear and base layers, sportswear, shoes, and outdoor gear.

Stephen Richards is an author writing in the self-help genre. The first book he wrote in 1998 was in the true crime genre for Mirage Publishing. He has co-written a number of books with others, but now concentrates on writing in the mind, body, spirit subjects of Cosmic Ordering and mind power.

The best known works of Stephen Richards are probably The Cosmic Ordering Guide. and the co-authored book of Solitary Fitness. He has also worked on TV and radio.

He produced and directed the three-hour video documentary Sincerely Yours about UK prisoner Charles Bronson. In 2000, the then Home Secretary Jack Straw was granted an injunction banning the release of Sincerely Yours, on the grounds that it included footage of Bronson terrorizing a hostage in prison, whose copyright was owned by the prison, according to Straw . Having refused to withdraw the video saw Richards given a prison sentence (suspended) and he had to incur court costs of £64,000. The video was later released in an edited version by Mirage Publishing, but was later totally withdrawn for what Richards claimed were personal reasons.

Writing true crime books as an investigative journalist for Blake Publishing from early 2000 to 2006 saw him change from writing about the perpetrator to the victim of crime. His crime writing came to an end when he moved away from this genre, citing the way crime was being glamorised and how the victim was neglected.

From 2006 he restarted Mirage Publishing and turned his back on true crime writing, vowing never again to write in this genre, totally concentrating on writing mind, body and spirit books and publishing new authors.

His professional background is in clinical hypnotherapy and stress counselling. He was previously a member of the British Association of Counsellors and was affiliated to their Family [...] Division, Disaster Team and Stress Counselling for Students Division.

He currently applies his time to self-help publications, running his property development empire, and helping others.

John Alle is an American real estate consultant and personal relocator. He co-founded the Santa Monica Coalition, which aims to improve the city and reduce homelessness, crime, and drug use.

In 2020, Alle started erecting signs in front of his storefronts which complained about the level of homelessness in Santa Monica, where Alle lives. In September 2023, when Alle was filming a video of homeless people in Palisades Park, he was attacked by a 34-year old homeless man. After the assault, Alle had a broken jaw and required two brain surgeries, but has since fully recovered.

In June 2025, Alle began running a service where unhoused people in Santa Monica can call a hotline to receive a free flight out of the city, provided they have identification and a family member or contact at their destination. Alle claimed that the city’s current attempts at reducing homelessness were ineffective, and cited the statistic that most homeless people in Santa Monica are originally from outside of the city as a reason for starting the program.
