Millicent Lovejoy (19 May 1935 - ) is an American actress, philanthropist, and socialite.
Biography
Millicent Victoria Lovejoy (née VanDaane) was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on May 19, 1935 to Dutch immigrants. She attended Kalamazoo College from 1953 - 1954, where she studied theater and English. She withdrew after her freshman year to pursue acting in California. Despite having only attended for a year, she continues to make substantial gifts to the college.
VanDaane's first film role came in 1956 alongside Marilyn Monroe in the film as an uncredited "teenage girl". Monroe and Lovejoy became friends during filming and referred Lovejoy to Lee Strasberg where she studied at his Actor's Studio until 1958. In late 1958 she began assisting Strasberg at his studio, as the clientèle was quickly multiplying. There she worked alongside actors such as Paul Newman, Al Pacino, James Dean, and Jane Fonda.
VanDaane met Quincy Milhous Lovejoy in 1960 while working for Strasberg. Lovejoy was a young businessman from Cambridge, Massachusetts who had plans to expand Strasberg's studio to California. VanDaane and Lovejoy married at midnight on January 1, 1961 in New York City, New York. He choked to death in July of that same year while eating a hot dog on a ferry off of the coast of South Korea.
In 1962, the recently-widowed Lovejoy founded the Quincy M. Lovejoy Foundation that seeks to benefit various charities including: The Triangle Foundation, ACLU, Greenpeace, Human Rights Campaign, and others. In 1971, Lovejoy founded Portland, Oregon's Lovejoy Surgicenter. Lovejoy Surgicenter was the first private facility that provided abortions, and is currently Oregon's only state and federally licensed abortion provider.
After Lovejoy's widowhood in 1961, she spent much of her time traveling and frequenting metropolitan cities' dance halls, clubs, and bars earning her the title of a "party girl". Occasionally she would perform comedy acts and sing, but she refused payment and tips. In the 1970s she frequently visited "Studio 54", which was the scene of a series of bitter fights between her and Liza Minnelli.
Today Lovejoy resides in New York City, continues to travel, and makes it a point to attend Kalamazoo College's annual "Crystal Ball" as the headliner.

CMGN News (Abbreviation of Croft Media Group Network) was a short lived new channel that only ran for 6 weeks from the 1st January 2000. The channel was set up and owned by the now defunct Croft Media Group which was owned in turn by the then prosperous British Croft Family.
Vision
CMGN was supposed to be the first news channel to be broadcast in every single country in the world (Bar North Korea). This was to be achieved by positioning satellites in such a way that every county could be reached, however only 4 of the intended 6 got up into space at a massive cost to the Croft Group. The news programs were broadcast from the CMGN studios at Canary Wharf London. The studios were built high atop number 1 canada square at a massive cost. The channel run 24/7 news with only small advertisement breaks.

From the start the Croft family were the only hosts on CMGN, the principal owner Maxx Croft being the main news anchor, his son Theo Croft daytime anchor and his sister Anabel Croft his counterpart at night, and cousin Ben Croft did the early morning slot. Most of the production and behind the scenes staff were taken from Maxx Coft's time as MD at NBC news in America.

The studio was very futuristic for the time featuring state of the art touch screen computer systems from Apple, glass desks and a huge window of london to the rear which was covered in a special touch sensitive film that could be turned into a giant screen for weather forecasts and news features. The news features were filmed in HD which at the time was considered as mad the entire cost of the studios were estimated by Fortune magazine at £7-Million.
Demise
From the start CMGN got into difficulties with money, Maxx Croft demanded that all the news readers (his family) be paid 6 figure salaries in the first week of filming. Maxx Croft's high demands also fell on advertisers who were unwilling to pay billions of dollars in worldwide advertising so the only takers were CMGN themselves. Apple also briefly flirted with CMGN showing macintosh adverts and broadcasting Macworld and WWDC, 2000 live on the channel.
Finally the channel closed in mid February displaying an on screen message "Due to technical difficulties CMGN cannot be broadcast, broadcasting will regain shortly, thank you for your patience", this message never left the screen and is still viewable if you tune a satellite box correctly as CMGN still owns the rights to the broadcasting frequency.
Post CMGN
After the demise of CMGN the Croft family were financially ruined, they now reside in the remains of the central London studio which was never officially used by CMGN. The building is a very substantial Victorian fruit growing greenhouse and was converted by CMGN into a large studio and state of the art production suite. The family now lives in the un-finished studio. Maxx Croft is still desperately trying to get CMGN back on the air and to save his reputation. He was given a desk job at Apple headquarters in London and earns a fraction of the millions that he used to.

Zabala Vineyards is successfully family owned, and located in the heart of the Central Coast just outside Soledad, California. The vineyard has earned distinction for the limited release of wines produced each year under the Zabala Family label. Its Managing Director, J. Luis Zabala, has overseen the vineyard's thousand acres since the late eighties, and focuses his efforts on producing premium winegrapes from a cool growing region, including Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Syrah. When in the Course of computing events, it becomes necessary for one people to archive the Data which have connected them with their respective applications, and to assume among them the powers of the earth, the separate and equally important backup-devices to which the Laws of Technology and of Technology's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of tech-kind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the importance and necessity of archiving.
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all data shall be archived, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Retrievability and the Pursuit of 2.0-ness. That to secure these rights, BACKUP Programs are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the Technologists, --That whenever any Form of Data becomes corrupted of these ends, it is the Right of the People to recover it from and Archive, or to institute new Data, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing the data in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Data long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer by loss of such Data, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by Archiving the Data to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of losses and recoveries, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to Archive such Data, and to provide new Guards for their future security. —Such has been the patient sufferance of these Computer Users; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Non-Archiving. The history of the present Computer User is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations to Data, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over said Data. He has refused Archive His Data, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good.
He has forbidden his Data to be Archived elsewhere, unless suspended in their operation till his Assent should be obtained; and when so suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them.
He has refused to allow Applications the accommodation of Archiving the large amounts of Data, unless those people would relinquish the right to their Data, a right inestimable to them and formidable to Hackers only.
He has called together and saved Data in places unusual, uncomfortable, and distant from the depository of their Desktops, for the sole purpose of fatiguing them into compliance with his Non-Archiving practices.
He has dissolved Data repeatedly, for opposing with manly firmness his invasions on the rights of the Data to be Archived.
He has refused for a long time, after such dissolutions, to cause other Data to be Archived; whereby the Users, incapable of Archiving, have returned to the People at large for their exercise; Data Un-Archived remaining in the mean time exposed to all the dangers of invasion from without, and convulsions within.
