Galwegian Power Thrash is a term used to describe the sound and energy of bands like Hellfire, the brain-child of Dylan Baldwin. Influenced by the NWOBHM and Bay Area thrash, songs are usually performed at fast tempos, feature heavily technical guitar parts and aggressive vocals. Despite metal gaining a negative image in today's society the lyrics are purely stories based on novels and motion picture instead of Satanism and violence. Songs often chronicle the events of comics such as Spawn and movies like the 1970s horror cult classic The Omen. The imagery associated with Galwegian Power Thrash is usually of a dark nature, featuring the reaper and anti-Christian references. The messages, which are rarely found, are usually against the tyranny Right Hand Path Religions.
