Tenor Power is an internationally known group of three of the most powerful, and talented tenors that attended Osseo Senior High in Osseo, Minnesota. The group consisted of Scott Dreessen, Paul Jackson, and Ryan Modeen. The three attended Osseo Sr. High from 1998 until 2001 and won numerous awards, performed many concerts, and were notorious for giving their choir directors numerous headaches. The three still live in the metro area of Minneapolis, and they remain great friends. Although there have been rumors surfacing of a reunion tour, there has been no confirmation.
History
Tenor Power first began in 1998 when the duo of Ryan Modeen, and Paul Jackson, who came from Maple Grove Junior High, met and joined forces with Scott Dreessen who hailed from Osseo. The 3 tenth graders took over the Troubadours Choir Group. The three immediately were feared for their prowess, intelligence, and musical talent. Although Paul also sang baritone, his high tone was not ignored and the three began to take over. Ryan worked his magic in the fall musical, while Scott worked his magic bagging groceries at Dean's Supermarket, and Paul worked his magic on the soccer field The first 2 semesters they were forced to sing with the rest of the 10th grade guys in the class, and the last semester they joined the 10th grade women, where Tenor Power popularity began to soar. Tryouts for the infamous Motet Choir, which was made up of the most talented singers in the school, began that spring. Both Scott, and Ryan made the group, Paul was shunned by the choir director due to other basses in the group, but it was well known that she recognized the rising power that was coming and tried her best to keep them apart.
Eleventh grade came in 1999 and the trio only grew stronger as the summer went on. When 11th grade started in September they were placed in the A Capella Choir, which consists of the juniors and seniors of the school. That fall the choir director tried to split the group apart by keeping Paul in the bass section, but Ryan and Scott would still sit near him and the three would plot to one day take over the section, the class, and eventually the world. Paul and Ryan both were in the Musical, and Scott and Ryan were still keeping strong in Motet. The next spring came around and with Paul now recognized as a tenor he quickly made the Motet choir. The last step that came around was senior year where they made their historic rise.
Senior year started out with great success. After a near clean sweep of the Choir Elections, Paul as president, Scott as treasurer, and Ryan as Wardrobe, and many other spots filled by honorary members things were working well. Motet Choir was off to its most successful, albeit obnoxious year in its history. The last piece of the puzzle that was added was the addition of the Europe Trip. The choir went to Italy and Austria in the Spring of 2001 and the tenors again were dominating. There they were adored by the europeans and hated by their chaperones. While on the trip some were threatened that they would be sent home but these were just wild accusations. At one point after one of their tours the three were getting off of their bus and could spot one of the chaperones angerly watching them from her hotel window when Scott simply flagged his arms at her challenging a throw down. She refused, and was greeted with a boustful "WHAT!" from the tenor. After the returned home to the states it was time for graduation thus ending their reign of terror at Osseo.
Post High School
Since high school the three remain close to this day. Paul and Scott both attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where they set new standards in partying in the Grand Marc. Ryan floated around from Hennepin Tech to Hennepin Community College when he realized his dream off stopping terror instead of causing it by becoming a police officer. Paul now works for Ameriprise Financial where he handles big money for all the top executives and celebrities in the world, while Scott is in the midst of one the biggest company jumps in decades since changing to AT&T instead of Sprint starting November of 2007.
