Robinson Vil (1962) is a critically-acclaimed independant filmmanker.

Early Years
Mr. Robinson Vil hails from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. He, his mother and his younger sister moved to the United States in early 1992 to Atlanta, GA. After the move to Atlanta, Mr. Vil quickly adapted to his new surroundings, learned the English language as fast as he possibly could. He went on to graduate from Henderson High in 1994, took a little time off before enrolling at Georgia State University, where he majored in International Business. But two (2) years into his undergraduate studies, Mr. Vil had a revelation. He quickly realized that he had other things in mind, which inadvertently led to his decision to leave school in pursuit of his dreams.

Film Maker
Mr. Vil's inspiration comes from such amazing, great actors and directors such as: Sidney Poitier, Morgan Freeman, Tony Scott, Spike Lee, Steven Spielberg, Albert and Allen Hughes. Their acting and directing styles had such a major impact on Mr. Vil that he decided to pursue acting and directing at YourAct on TV, the Actor's Express and The Company Acting Studio where he studied and learned the craft of acting and directing as best as he possibly could.

Mr. Vil went on to direct his first short film in the year 2000 titled "Love Doesn't Ask Why" a romantic drama based on one of his previous relationships. His cast consisted mostly of the students from his acting school at the time. Given that Mr. Vil had no prior directing experience, he used his first short as a trial and error process. But after seeing the result from his first project, which was better than expected for a first time independent director. Mr. Vil went on to write, produce and direct two more short films in the year 2002-2003 titled "Till Death Do Us Part" and "Troubled" In 2005 Mr. Vil directed his 4th short titled " Dark Secrets" a film dealing with Brothers on the DL and the danger they pose to African American women in America. This particular short film was officially selected in 2007 to play at the largest Black film festival (USA), Pan African Film Festival in Los Angeles. It was also nominated for Best Short Film in the Festival. In 2006, he directed his fifth short titled "The Effect" a drama that deals with the negative impact absent parents can have on the lives of their children. In late 2007, Mr. Vil directed his sixth and last short film titled "Riff" an action/thriller that deals with two girls who find themselves in quite a predicament and must figure a way out of it before time runs out.
