Zenergo (pron. ZEN-ergo) is an activity- and interest-focused online site for post-college-age users to manage their real-world social life. Its main focus is on "activities," from a list of some 300 ranging from sports to hobbies, crafts, social networking, and interests. (Examples: winetasting, cycling, cardplaying, baseball, music appreciation, travel.) Its main features include forming and managing groups and events, and location-based search to find activity partners, groups, and events in the member's area. All are keyed to specific activities, with, for example, separate chat "walls" for each activity or interest. History Zenergo Inc. (initially Activnet) was created by Patrick J. Ferrell, a serial entrepreneur who had co-founded (with Reid Hoffman, later founder of LinkedIn) the early social networking and dating site, SocialNet, which was sold in 2000. Previously, Ferrell had founded GamePro magazine, and as President of IDG's Infotainment World, launched E3 Expo, the largest annual trade fair for the computer- and video-gaming industry. Development of Zenergo began in 2009; the site launched in May 2011.
