I-Meet is a social network focused on the corporate meetings and special events industry. This industry specific, business-oriented social networking site catering specifically to the hospitality industry is for people who plan Meetings, Incentives, Conferencing, Exhibitions. I-Meet offers 3 broad membership categories; Planners, Suppliers and Industry Interest (such as meeting and convention planner, professional conference organiser, convention and visitor bureau, destination marketing organization, as well as hotels and vendors offering hospitality services to the industry).
I-Meet plans to bring social networking, web 2.0 tools, work flow and relationship opportunities, and industry intelligence to its members and suppliers. Implementation of tools such as a Facebook Invite Tool and the ability for members to embed YouTube Video for convenience in sharing marketing information.

I-Meet's Founder and CEO, John Pino had previously served as the President of McGettigan Partners and as the Founder and CEO of meeting management technology solutions company, Starcite and Facebook group.. Mr. Pino possesses over 30 years of experience in corporate meetings consolidation and management and has been featured on 4 occasions as amongst the top 25 Most Influential Executives in the Meetings and Travel Industry.
I-Meet recently appointed industry veterans Bob Bennett and Denise Jacobs as its Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Supplier Sales respectively. i-Meet was officially launched on November 18th, 2008 . i-Meet is based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Social Features
i-Meet hosts a wide array of tools in which users can interact. They include photos, where users can upload albums and photos, a message board, a space on every user's profile page that allows friends to post messages for the user to see. The blog feature allows members to publish blogs and other users to subscribe to the blog via a RSS feed. Members are able to upload and share video content from 3rd party video hosting sites such as youtube. The Groups feature allows users to establish new business relationships by joining alumni, industry, or professional and other relevant groups.

i-Meet features the industry's first electronic Request For Information (e-RFI) tool. The engine connects its planner members directly to over 40,000 suppliers, tourist boards and Destination Management Companies who serve as i-Meet's exclusive "Expert" network around the world. (eg. PRA, Emeco) around the world.
A Request For Information (RFI) is meant to aid the early stage of a planner's decision making process and allows them to receive relevant information such as general pricing information or destination knowledge from suppliers before proceeding to submitting a formal request for proposal (RFP).
Skills Marketplace
i-Meet's Skills Marketplace is a new feature that's nearing completion, whereby planners can market their services to organizations, and organizations can publish project work opportunities for planners to engage their services.
Ratings
i-Meet features a ratings system that allows members to rate suppliers and submit reviews on their experience with a supplier. Ratings on i-Meet are made by planners who plan meetings and events at a group level rather than consumer generated ratings and reviews to increase it's relevance to the Meeting Planning industry.
Ratings on the i-Meet are all user-generated.
